re: de-facto 8 bit SMTP
Re: vendors getting updates out to the field in a matter of minutes.
May I interpret that as a legally binding obligation on the part of Prime,
such that Prime may be sued if Prime should fail to meet this obligation?
Are your superiors aware that you are committing Prime to such an update
and support policy?
I'm serious about this. Talk may be cheap, but irresponsible talk may be
extremely expensive. I know of no vendor which commits itself in such a
manner.
Can we please have less irresponsible talk or silliness of the form "it is
trivial for me, so the problem is universally trivial." Can we please have
fewer put-downs of those Internet mail developers who are not "the support for
a *commerical* e-mail product." Speaking for myself, the more I hear this
kind of stuff, the less inclined I am to be sympathetic to any of the Prime
proposals.

Disclaimer: I don't use Prime computers. I don't work with anyone who does.
The only contact I have ever had with Prime computers was years ago when I had
the opportunity to play with a system running PRIMOS. I wasn't impressed; but
that has no relevance to what Prime may be doing today.
