Hmm.. odd, a couple of weeks ago when somebody sent the message
containing some umlauts, I'm pretty darn sure the message arrived
with some high bits set. To reach me it had to pass through
a VMS with WIN/TCP, and two Suns with MMDF.
At any rate we're planning on one more round of updating to MMDF
and can probably slide that change in. Question: Should the
commands be sent/received with the 0x80 bit clear or set? I assume
the data should be passed unmunged ...
