Re: smtp charter (revised)



When we get around to defining a new mail transport (with a new port#),
I hope it includes out-of-band transfer of the message itself.  That is,
the "control session" should include the transfer of port numbers so that
the text of the message is sent on a different port, outside the normal
stream of commands.  (Sort of like FTP.)  If anyone asks why, I have three
reasons which I can enumerate.
