Re: I-D ACTION:draft-myers-smtp-auth-00.txt

Hello, I have a problem with configuration of a mail server on the LAN
in Japan. Unfortunately, I haven't got the idea what machine they are
using for the mail server(s) and what software are on. I only know that
they have email system for 900 macintosh by Quickmail and has ISDN
connection to oversea (Germany).
I assume they have a router, a TA and a DSU. Therefore, I think that if
they apply for dedicated line internet service on ISDN, the connection is
OK. However, what about the server setting? How do I re-configure the
existing mail server software to connect with e-mail addresses on the LAN
and the internet email. I heard that if the LAN is connected with
internet with a dedicated line, I can create an internet domain name for
the LAN. But how?

Please give me any suggestions.
