Well, there's an informal expectation in the Big Eight that all newsgroup
names be in English, since the Big Eight is really the international
*English* hierarchies, but other than that I definitely agree with you.
This is to some degree the same argument that comes up with i18n of any
software package. It's a lot of work to do it right, but in the end yes
it really does matter, and we should do that work and make it possible for
people to use their real alphabets and their actual words.
