Indeed. Which is why their use is deprecated for a long time to come
somewhere in Section 4, even though it is a MUST that software should be
able to ignore them if it is to be compliant.
However, I take your point that parsing of Distribution headers needs to be
fast, so I shall leabe the FWS alone (since it is a news-only header, we
are at liberty to make whatever rules we want).
