Putting on my "DRUMS WG Chair" hat, this issue was raised too late in the
process to be changed.
If Pete happens to be doing another draft to include last call comments and
wants to drop in a sentence mentioning that white space in message ids
doesn't interoperate with news, that'd be fine. But trying to make a
technical change to the formal syntax after the document has passed IETF
last call is just not appropriate.
