Thanks for all the replies regarding moderation schemes. I will respond to
the suggestions here in this one message.
First of all, I am aware of NoCeM, but if they are not as easy to select as
choosing a newsgroup to read within the newsreader I don't expect widespread
use. If newsreaders can be implemented as I suggested or likewise using
NoCeM or the 'approved header' I invite everyone to do so. Without flexible
moderation usenet will not be able to florish once again.
What would be the best way to get people or companies write a newsreader
that supports moderationschemes? I don't have the resources to do it myself.

PS. I did not address the issue of the infrastructure being overloaded or
address harvesting, I did not intend to, but I will share my thoughts on
this in seperate messages.
