The body is never the right pace when what you want to convey is structured
information. You not only wnat to tell hims benn posted and mailed, you
also want to tell him _where_ it's posted (both which newsgroup and which
news server for private hierarchies (mozilla.*, bofh.*, net.*, local.*,
etc.)!). There is no reason such a message has to be a followup; it could
well be a new message that I wanted you to be aware I'd posted.
Read the Posted-and-Mailed draft. Among other things, it suggest a blurb in
the body until critical mass of support for the new header has been reached
and this is how it is implemented in YA-NW. It works very well.
