No. That's part of my point. :)

That information should be in overview or some similar meta-information
database and should be transferred via some protocol such as NNTP in my
opinion. I *really* don't like the idea of news servers munging the
article content in order to include site-specific information. We're
stuck with Xref, but let's not make the same mistake again.
