The basic service to the readers is serving articles posted by other
readers. Making it easier for other readers to post in the same name
space is a convenience for the readers, and splitting the community
into noninteracting and nonintersecting subsets is generally a
disservice to them.
Now, there are certainly cases where exclusion is reasonable or even
mandatory. But it is by no means a given; if we are to send people off
to form their own news system, we should have a very good reason for
so doing.
