I have probably in the past given support to this feature. At least
I seem to recall discussing technicalities around it.
However, I have now changed my mind, and I think that it should not
be included in the draft. And the simple reason is that I want to
get something with UTF-8 out of the door. The function with minor
replacements is nice, but it is not important enough to justify a
delay for this working group.
So I think we should just document Supersedes as it works today and
move on.
