I eventually came around to download and install IE6.0. In the group
list the group name is represented in Latin-1. I tried to set Unicode
as default, but that didn't change matters.

The aritcle list is interesting. I posted the subject like RÄKSMÖRGÅS
to the group on news.gnksa.org both in raw UTF-8 and raw Latin-1, and
Outlook Express 6 displays them the same! Someone has been smart there!
From this follows, that group list(s) should be no big deal for Outlook
Express.

In the article window and the article pane, the newsgroup name displays
properly in the header, if I have set Unicode as the default font for
readong.

Posting works, presuming I have Western European as encoding. When I
select UTF-8 as encoding I cannot post, because Outlook Express
RFC2047-mangles the newsgroup name.
