Actually, I have seen MSOE postings in the group now. As far as I can
tell, it depend on the setting. It is possible to post if one does
*not* set it to UTF-8, but then the name is displayed wrong.

But one has to enter the utf-8 bytecodes, not the characters, right?
And that is what one sees as well?

Yes, unless there is a plan to reevalulate the decision to use of raw
UTF-8 newsgroup names. Charles Lindsey? Is that on the agenda?

Important point. I'm more optimistic now, it seems the latest version
of INN handles automatic newgroup handling correctly, as does some old
servers. And most clients seem to be able to cope in some way with
the group, even though it is nowhere near something for ordinary
users, that is an encouraging sign.
