I'm BCC'ing this to the MS OE Project Manager, but don't have a lot of hope
for either an answer or fast action (i.e. probably not in the next version
or an interim version unless it's something they are already working on).

Good point, although I did see a couple of posts from an OE users.
I'm Cc'ing Adam Bailey who, I believe, has it installed and would be able to

There will certainly be difference between OS's and versions, but as long as
they aren't totally locked out in earlier versions (and that doesn't seem to
be the case) I don't view that as a major stumbling block.
