However, I've had some less than happy experiences with long headers
recently, and doing it that way puts a practical restriction on the size
of the list.
I would go with Brad's suggestion for a new message of the general form:
<article@id>; action=cancel
<article@id>; action=cancel
<article@id>; action=cancel
or similar. However:
