The magic prefix is used with DNS labels, where the legacy label format
doesn't provide a tagging syntax (ergo, the only way to tag the data as
being not-legacy is to attach a prefix to the string itself).
The assumption I have is that if Punycode were used for local-part
elements of email addresses, then another tagging would be used, so as to
clearly delineate between ~"this is a label" and ~"this is a local-part",
although that may not be required.
Towards that point, it is important to note that the above is 100%
speculation. There is no telling what will actually happen with anything
although there are some educated guesses which can be made.
