There is some cosmic irony in the fact that two WGs trying to
standardize protocols and message formats for discussion have
not been enjoying efficient, productive discussions.

Usenet used to increase productivity. Last time I checked, it
primarily looked like a method of entertainment and ways of
wasting time and avoiding paying copyright holders.
