Dear all,
Thank you for comments.
I understood that two Date fields are redundant and confusing.
(This way is my own idea to keep compatibility.)
But I think the current format is certainly inconvenient and is not
desirable. I believe that many people agree with this.
I want to emphasize that the message data or retrieval system is
not always my own.
There is a good example when I feel inconvenient. When I want to look for
the messages which is posted on April 2002 by search site (e.g. google),
what appropriate query should I make? If the Date: field were based on
RFC-3339, I can make such a query: "Date: 2002-04-".
http://www.google.com/search?q=%22date%3A+2002-04-%22&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&lr=
Indeed we can construct such a query: "Date: " AND "April 2002", but the
return document will be contain huge noize.
I don't hope short switching to a new format. I am ready for taking for
5 years or 10 years or more after the release of draft.
Regards,
