> Huh? Who said you couldn't discuss what (and when?)
You really don't remember when I renewed a discussion about a problem in
the draft, and Henry jumped down my throat for trying to discuss it after
precious last call? I couldn't bring it up since I was bringing it up too
late -- even though I had brought it up months prior to last call.
And now this case-sensitivity requirement for "poster", which was never
brought up prior to last call, is dragging on. It can't be changed because
"current software" assumed it was case-dependent and it's too hard to do a
case-insensitive test for the word. We cannot possibly change how current
software works in this area, even though it can be changed in every other
place where the right people want it to be.
Funny how changes that the editor wants to make are easily inserted after
last call, but issues raised before last call can't be mentioned again
afterwards. Funny how "document current practice" is the requirement
sometimes, but "change current practice" at other times, depending on who
wants what. Were I cynical, I'd say that is a double standard. To bad
that's not just a pun.
