You're just plain wrong here. These people usually have a newsreader
that can:
* show a *single* unencoded 8bit charset
* decode RFC 2047
They will:
* not notice a RFC 2047 posting at all.
* be unable to either:
. read *raw* untagged UTF-8, or
. read messages in the *single* unencoded 8bit charset.
(except by finding the charset setting of their newsreader and chaning
it on a per-message basis if that is possible).
In other words: If you send raw UTF-8 - blessed by a standard or not -,
you will be flamed.
