The big difference is that in the latter case, the user has immediate
feedback that something went wrong, even if it's a bit mysterious. In the
former, his article achieves unexpectedly poor propagation without any
warning to him. (Remember, the problem isn't necessarily on his machine.)

*Either way*, the moral of the story is that he shouldn't use a Subject
content of that form, but in the latter case, he actually hears about it.
