IMHO John and Bruce have demonstrated that this "unstructured
structure" leads to contradictions, and a clean solution is to
accept the structure.

I'm pretty sure that no server or gateway looking for "cmsg"
recognizes =?us-ascii?Q?csmg?=, but I test with this article.

Yes, apparently the old way of posting to the list without an
explicit subscription doesn't work anymore, or at least not
for the addresses / IPs tested by me this year (it used to
work for my old address in 2002).

Somebody did it for me, probably Kent. Now I trash the mails
and continue to read on gmane, with the major differece that
posting now works (almost) immediately.
Some lists support to disable subscriptions, but apparently
Majordomo does not believe in write-only access. It's much
more interesting to read _this_ list on a news server (hint
for Russ, technically the list address is the "moderator",
and the lists are "moderated" groups on news.gmane.org - plus
a lot of antispam magic / Web access / archives. Cute idea.)
