I wasn't implying that, although you may have inferred it.
I was stating that if I've misunderstood his position, I would be happy to
clarify. If I've not misunderstood his position, we simply don't agree.
In that case, I'm very unlikely to change my mind and I have no motivation
for compromise, which means that we are at an impasse and there's probably
no point in additional discussion.
