No, the _real_ format, if there is such a thing, is totally irrelevant,
provided that it is at least permitted. RFC 2822 allowed considerably more
than proper IP addresses in the id-right - ours not to reason why. The
question is whether or not we can justify doing anything different from
RFC 2822.

RFC 2822 allows that. Nobody suggests that any future IP will allow it. So
