Some food for thought



Oki all,

This gem dropped into my in-tray this afternoon, and I've sanitized the part
that is relevant to :43. 

Someone is flogging 10^^8 records that look surprisingly similar to whois
data, from select spindles, in CD form, for $200, or .0005 cents/record.
Of course, the mechanism of acquisition of the data need not have been any
protocol, contract (bulk sale) is another possibility.

Just to keep my understanding of the market in registrant data consistent
with reality, anyone who has data on mass-registrant data (prices, vendors,
date of acquisition, format (this vendor's format of choice is EXCELL), do
drop me a note off-list.
