Well, if you consider that XML Infoset = XML + Namespace,
No, XML 1.0 + Namespaces in XML = XML + Namespace.
The Infoset describes an abstraction with a remarkably jargonized
vocabulary (information items marching about) that represents a subset of
XML + Namespace capabilities. The Infoset was not defined to advance XML
technology to any new level - it only provides descriptions of capabilities.
and that it establishes a well-defined, non ambiguous terminology, you
would want precisely to do that.
Not if you valued the syntax and found the Infoset a bizarre and
long-winded abstraction that reduces rather than enhances XML's
capabilities. Element Information Item? Yeah, that's wonderful
terminology, and really helpful in defining protocol bits on the wire.
I recommend avoiding any strong reference to the XML Infoset in this
document.
