RE: Last Call: Intrusion Detection Message Exchange Format Data Model and Extensible Markup Language (XML) Document Type Definition to Proposed Standard



The draft should add an IANA considerations section registering
application/idmef+xml for the reasons discussed in RFC 3023.  Note that
the soon to be last called XML recommendations for IETF protocols
<http://www.imc.org/ietf-xml-use/draft-hollenbeck-ietf-xml-guidelines-05
.txt> recommends a MIME type be registered in section 4.16.

This is a minor change that will increase interoperability, and should
not require a new last call.

The IESG has received a request from the Intrusion Detection Exchange 
Format Working Group to consider Intrusion Detection Message Exchange 
Format Data Model and Extensible Markup Language (XML) Document Type 
Definition <draft-ietf-idwg-idmef-xml-06.txt> as a Proposed Standard.  

The IESG plans to make a decision in the next few weeks, and solicits
final comments on this action.  Please send any comments to the 
iesg@xxxxxxxx or ietf@xxxxxxxx mailing lists by July 3, 2002.
