Re: Jonah does not work. Please help
Hi Mihai,
I'm assuming that you got Jonah from the MIT web site. Let me know if
either assumption is wrong.
There is (rather sparse) documentation. See if you can find it and use it
(sorry to be so vague; I don't have access to a kit right now).
Don't try to initialize the CA if you're working with the current MIT web
site drop (our next drop does have initialization wizards). Just launch
right into the documentation on how to request a certificate (hint: it
starts with preregistration at the RA, then goes to the EE, then back to
the RA, then to the CA, then back through the RA to the EE).
The documentation does say something about what to do with the ini files.
On NT, they're assumed to be in c:/. The documentation available with the
kit is the most exact documentation we have on the version. There is also a
general paper on Jonah architecture available, but it won't help you in
building and doing anything with it (just with understanding the general
architecture and the development process we followed).

Subject: Jonah does not work. Please help

Hello...
I have succesfully built and installed the Certificate Authority,
Registration Authority and End Entity on a single computer .
I want now to test and try the functions of the Jonah components
(CA,RA,EE), but it's not clear to me how they operate and how they follow
on from each other.
For example, when I try to initialize the CA, the "wizard" does't work to
the end. Without passing this step, I can't try anything else
because all options are invalidate. Things are happen in the same way with
RA and EE.
ALL IS INVALIDATE. Nothing work. Why?!!
Note I've built the Jonah components, put everything in its proper
place, exactly how is related in doc file hoo come with Jonah package and
run
each of the three subsystems (ee, ra, ca).
It's not clear, to me, what to put in the inifiles, where to put the
inifiles, so that the individual components know where the other servers
are and work.
I'm using all the specified tool/versions and NT-SP3.
Can you help me and to tell me exactly what steps (inifiles or everthing
else) should I follow to working with CA, RA and EE....
Thanks a lot !
Mihai
P.S. I need more to do Jonah work because I'm student and I have to do a
project about PKIx. More exactly, a certificate sever. If you can help me
with some documentation or everthing else about it, please send me an
email....
