What goes into the final step of preparing a SMIME message

Hi  there

I have prepared a PKCS #7  SignedData object. I have got the final
ContentInfo structure with SignedData as the contentype and the signed
data value as the content. My doubt is -

When I prepare the MIME headers for sending this SignedData object , do
I base64 encode the whole BER encoded ContentInfo object ? Please advise
me in this regard. Thanks
