Dear Mr Hoffman,
What you have been seeing here is symptomatic of an inherent communication
problem with the mailing list set up. But it can, I think easily be fixed.
Perhaps, in part with a brief newsletter?
Existence of this type of problem is ironic considering the medium (but that
is typical of the computing and internet arena where software is placed for
download without anyone REALLY telling you what its for, or what it does.).
There are doubtless many who, like myself, 'subscribed', following up on the
invitation to find out more, after accessing Four Eleven and seeing what
appeared to all intents and purposes to be an existing facility.
Four Eleven is a global email address data base.
*****The scant information, on Four Eleven (at that time) was that V-Card is
simply an electronic business card that gives more information about the
addressee than is available on the search screen. Now that would be great,
because it would eliminate contacting the wrong person. ********
Now I subscribed many months ago, but I am STILL patiently waiting for
something to come through that tells me how to get this marvellous little
'business card', but the implications are that it is still in the
development stages. I am not a programmer, so cannot understand the
technical talk that is the norm here. Or why it is taking so long to develop
what seems to be a very simple concept.
I have previously asked the question on this forum as to what V-card really
is or will be, and how to get it, but as yet no-one has bothered to "reply".
Goodness knows how many people across the world are reading all your mail to
each other. But I'd say there's quite a few, and every so often a few more
jack up at receiving mail that is entirely different to the purpose they
were invited to subscribe for, and drop off the list.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Keith Swift
