Hi
everyone!
I have found that the Nokia
5100 and 6100 series GSM/PCS mobile phones are so far the only ones able to send
phone-book entries as vCards via the SMS feature in the GSM system. I sent a
couple of entries from my 5110 GSM phone to a friend's Nokia 6150 dual-band GSM
phone (both associated with Telstra MobileNet) so I can save re-keying the
number into the phone.
This was because I was
loading in his frequently-used numbers into his phone's SIM card
repertory-dialling directory and I had some of the phone numbers in my SIM card
directory.
Then, tonight, I tried to
copy over a number into someone else's old Ericsson 388 GSM phone (on the same
network) and the SMS message came out as a lot of vCard syntax specifying the
details regarding the contact - could not be imported into their dialling
directory.
I would like to know which
GSM phones (other than the Nokia 5100 and 6100 series) do accept or transmit
vCard directory entries over SMS? Could you please list those models or series
that do that trick?
With
regards,
Simon
