vCard site
Title: Message
Hello,
I thought I should
update this board with some new developments for my vCard site. I have obtained
the domains vcardplus.info and vcardplus.com and will be moving the demo site to
a beta site as soon as I find a suitable host. My current demo host, Brinkster,
has recently changed policy and added an ad banner to the top of free sites, so
my card cannot be verified with the w3c because of their
code.
The PDA version of
the card is much better, and WAP download is still in the
works.
Updates in this
version:
Added: IM fields
(yahoo, Aim, msn, Lycos, ICQ)
Added: Online sync
on the READ ONLY card *see below
*Now folks that
receive your electronic business card can add or "sync" the info directly
to *most* popular non-vCard compliant address books(Netscape, Yahoo!, AOL,
Lycos[buggy but works], MSN/Hotmail, Plaxo)
Added: Standardized
buttons to mimic Win XP style in all browsers (READ
ONLY card)
Added: 3 different
map choices for the view map button(Mappoint, Mapquest,
Expedia)
Updated the Layout
on the name tab to include suffix
Added a "text"
version link to the READ ONLY card for ADA
Tested in IE 4.0,
5.01, 5.5, 6.0, NS 6, 7, Opera 4,7.xx, WebTV, PocketPC(IE4.01). No Mac testing
because I don't have a Mac.
On the slate.
Multi-lingual support. By checking the default language of the browser, I intend
to forward the card holder to a vCard page that matches that language.
This way a person can enter card information reading a French or
Spanish interface, but the card would be delivered to any requestor with an
interface that matched the requestors browser language. No plans for links
to multi-lingual pages on the card itself. This will just take place 'behind the
scenes'.

vCard by clicking the "add me to your address book..." link below or go

Have fun and I look
forward to your feedback.
