I note a certain lack of animation to this online discussion. So, here's
some food for thought, grist for the mill, etc.:

1.	To date, all discussion of MSP has been general and lacks any
product statements pertaining to Internet "native" email, namely
822/mime/smtp. Unless and until there is a statement that specific vendors
have it in their product pipeline or are committed to shipping it, it will
remain off the agenda. The other requirement is that document online
citations and/or postings to the parallel archive for this list be made.

2.	I think that the morning should begin with a very brief summary of
the kinds of functions and situations that this realm may need to cover.
This begins to 'requirements' discussion which will pursued with more vigor
after the brief presentations on the alternatives.

Some examples:

	a. basic authentication and privacy (a&p) for random mixed MIME
data.
	b. a&p for mailing list participants
	c. Selective retrieval of secured MIME parts by IMAP clients, with
the server able to discern structure but not content (i.e., the
	    client does the security work.

	d. <<feed me some more>>...

I think that Paul's refinements and additions are excellent and
propose that they also be included.

NOTE TO SPEAKERS: this provides the beginnings of some structure
to the 3 presentations.

	OK, Folks. Start commenting!
