Well, Dave made several contributions, but this was indeed an important
one. As it turns out, I love devising acronyms, so I'll contribute a
few candidates here. Some of them are even serious.

The best I've come up with so far, I think, are:

MARS -- MIME Architecture for Reasonable Security
MISO -- MIME Integrated Security Objects

But I also came up with:

MAMAS -- MIME Augmented with More Added Security
SLALOM -- Security Largely Achieved as a Layer Over MIME
COMMIE -- Cryptographic Optimizations for Mostly-Integrated MIME Encryption
EMPATHIC -- Extensions to MIME Permitting Additional Theoretically
Hoped-for Integrated Cryptography

and, in a more cynical moment:

CHIMERA -- Cryptography Hopes to Integrate MIME Extensions Really Artfully

and my very favorite:

DIMSUM -- Dcrocker Inserting More Security Under MIME

We now return you to your regularly-scheduled arguments. -- Nathaniel
