This is one of the reasons MOSS was only one of two standards to
get a "+" in my book. I think the MOSS implementation per se may be
dead, but by no means do I see MOSS as a framework for "Doing Things
the Right Way" as dead.
It's certainly the best-integrated security standards I've
personally seen with regards to MIME, and as I stated before, I
sincerely hope that whatever standard is ultimately decided upon sure
looks a lot like MOSS -- perhaps different certificates, perhaps
different encryption algorithms, but at the framework-level, I think
you're going to have a hard time doing much better.
